Surfactants are a must for softwashing or pressure washing. A great surfactant can make your bleach last longer and helps it cling to surfaces. Surfactants can also help surfaces stay wet longer to increase your dwell time before drying. 

There are a variety of surfactants available. When choosing one, you must first decide if you will be adding your surfactant to the bleach or if you are proportioning it separately or pulling through a dual barb injector. Some surfactants are considered bleach stable and can be poured directly into the bleach and others should be pulled separately. 

Some surfactants are higher foaming and some are thicker than others to increase cling to steep roofs. 

A scented surfactant is great for masking the strong bleach smell.
