Some pressure washer pumps are equipped with a gear reducer. Gear reducers are mounted on direct drive pumps. The gear reducer allows the pump to run at a lesser speed than the engine and thus reduces the wear on your pump. Reducing pump wear of course adds to the life of your pump. If it's time to replace your pump and you are considering using a gear reducer, Pressure-Pro has made the job a little simpler. They offer pumps already complete with a gear reducer. It is important to make sure you choose the pump that will mount correctly with your high pressure washer as well as be compatible with the engine size.
